Brooklyn Penthouse
When this international client moved into the Parlour tower in Brooklyn's Park Slope neighborhood, she entrusted Legeard Studio with a complete cosmetic overhaul of the space. While keeping the layout intact, Legeard Studio sought to create designated entertainment spaces to host the client's friends and family from abroad and make small architectural changes to accentuate the apartment's arches, an important detail that pays homage to the signature arched bridges in nearby Prospect Park. Custom details and millwork can be found throughout the space, including the makeup vanity, built-ins in the living room to create a cozy environment to wind down and relax, and in the kitchen to create a custom coffee corner that beautifully integrates with the existing design details. Since the client worked from home, it was necessary to have designated office space with custom built-in shelves and filing cabinets. Out on the terrace, the design intentionally created three ambiances: a sunbathing area, a dining area, and a lounge area with greenery incorporated throughout. In the bedroom, Legeard showcased the client's Mediterranean roots with soft tones and textures while keeping the scheme elegant and modern. The goal was to bring in rustic elements while keeping a contemporary New York City vibe that is at once functional, elegant, and elevated.
